Sessions designed for young artists (of high school age) during the school holidays. These sessions will follow a relaxed and supported class environment, where the young artists will be encouraged to explore new materials and develop creative thinking. Each session will introduce a different activity with hands-on processes looking at approaches to composition, material, and the presentation of completed works. Sessions can be booked individually, or with a discounted price when booking together.
Camp notes
Art Sessions are as follows:
Wednesday 9th April: Mark making/tool making
Create your own 'paintbrushes' from found materials, experiment with the different and unique marks these brushes will make before creating a final painting with your new tools.
Monday 14th April: Embroider your clothes
Bring an item of clothing you would like to customize with some creative embroidery. Start by planning your design, thinking about composition, use of colour and placement on your garment, then learn how to use different techniques and stitches to create the finished article.
Wednesday 16th April: Clay sculpture
Learn how to create a 3D head from clay using a variety of different tools and techniques.
Thursday 17th April: Mono printing
Experiment with fabric dyes to create some unique coloured fabric which will act as your 'canvas' for the printing process. While these dry, the planning and sketching process will begin before learning and experimenting with the process of mono printing to create your final pieces. If there is time, add some embroidery to the fabrics to pick out detail.
All session are 1pm-4pm, we advise wearing older clothes, all materials will be provided.
